An E. J. McKay engagement commits the firm's resources and credibility to represent and advise a client in one or a series of complex transactions, quite often under multiple jurisdictions. We take each engagement with the utmost seriousness, and employ a procedure to ensure the success of our work.
The Partner who originates the client relationship will act as the sponsor and present the case to a Committee comprised of partners from at least three countries, who will evaluate the suitability of such opportunity. Some of the questions the Committee asks are:
- Is E. J. McKay well positioned to add significant value to the client?
- Is the client of strategic importance to the firm's long term growth?
- Does this organization share the core values of our firm?
- What are the terms and conditions of the proposed engagement?
We take a consensus approach in the Commitment Committee, and any engagement the firm enters into represents the unanimous support by the firm's partners and the resources they command locally and globally.
